Curious to explore the potential of AI music composition, I experimented with a neural network to generate new original music. The system was trained with a massive corpus (thousands) of existing music pieces. It then used that data as input to create new music compositions. Some of the results were pretty impressive with regards to musical structure and expression, some less so. The more successful examples can be found below: unedited generated pieces, all rendered from the raw output of the system using different instruments.
